  • Barbara Da Roit

Barbara Da Roit is associate professor at the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. She obtained a PhD in Sociology (Science-Po Paris) and in Urban and Local European Studies (University of Milan-Bicocca) in 2005. Her work focuses mainly on the transformations of European welfare systems from a comparative perspective, with a specific attention to care, ageing and intergenerational relations. Her research combines qualitative and quantitative methods. She participated in several international research projects on care policies and practices, on the consequences of cash-for-care schemes, on the conciliation between care and paid employment, on parenting support policies, on migrant care workers.
