Lorenzo Pavesi designated “IEEE Fellow”

Versione stampabile

Professor Lorenzo Pavesi, director of the Physics department, has recently been designated “IEEE fellow” a distinction the IEEE awards to about the 0.1% of its members, more than 420,000 individuals worldwide.

IEEE Fellow is a distinction reserved for select IEEE members whose extraordinary accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest are deemed fitting of this prestigious grade elevation.

Recognizing the achievements of its members is an important part of the mission of the IEEE. Each year, following a rigorous evaluation procedure, the IEEE Fellow Committee recommends a select group of recipients for elevation to IEEE Fellow.

Every year about 10 new fellows from Italy are designated and, besides prof. Pavesi, 5 other fellows are working at the University of Trento: Roberto Battiti, Lorenzo Bruzzone and Farid Melgani at the department of Information Engineering and Computer Science, Dario Petri and Luca Zaccarian at the department of Industrial Engineering.

The IEEE, Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, often pronounced “I triple E”, is an international association of scientists dedicated to advancing technological innovation.
