There’s a new champion at the University of Trento. After hosting athletes like Karen Putzer (alpine skiing), Matteo Anesi and Mirko Nenzi (ice skating), Paolo Bacchini (artistic ice skating), Lorenzo Gallosti and Michele Fedrizzi (Volleyball), the Top Sport programme is ready to welcome another important personality. The captain of the National basketball team, Raffaella Masciadri, has just recently enrolled at the Faculty of Law of the University of Trento and will take part in the Top Sport programme launched by the university to support the dual career of the most popular athletes.

Raffaella Masciadri  was born in Como in 1980 and plays for Famila Schio as guard/winger. She started her career in the National team in  2001 with 152 presences and over 1400 points scored. An intense commitment, being at the apex of Italian basketball, which is now joined by a new challenge: the conciliation of training and matches with study and exams.

She will not be alone however, because Top Sport is specifically conceived to help athlete-students. In particular, she will be supported by her tutor professor Carlo Casonato, who is jurist and a basketball lover and  actually likes to play in his free time.

Thanks to the Top Sport programme, the University of Trento  is able to offer great facilitation and flexibility to athletes who want to conciliate their sport career with their studies, thus trying to create themselves a secure and stable alternative able to go side by side with their lives as athletes. Joining competitiveness and university s

tudies is becoming a priority recognized also at an international level.

Raffaella Masciadri was welcomed to the University by the Dean,  Daria de Pretis. She was accompanied to meet the Dean by the University delegate for sports Paolo Bouquet and her tutor Carlo Casonato. On behalf of the whole University, the Dean wished Raffaella to achieve great results in her sport, but also at university.
