Versione stampabile

Luca Crescenzi, Professor of German literature at the University of Trento, is the first non-German scholar to receive the prestigious Thomas-Mann-Medaille, which is awarded by the Thomas-Mann-Gesellschaft to scholars who have contributed to disseminating the works of one of the most prominent German writers of all times, a recipient of the Nobel prize in literature in 1929, and a giant of twentieth century literature.

Crescenzi received the award for his work in translation, literary criticism and in the dissemination of the complete works of Thomas Mann in Italian, and specifically for the volume dedicated to the German author in the Meridiani Mondadori series.

The award ceremony took place days ago in Bad Tölz, Bayern, the town where Thomas Mann often stayed, during the fall conference of the association of literary studies dedicated to him.
