Budget 2015 approved

Almost a breakeven result of 241 million EUR

During the seat of 17 December the Board of Directors of the University of Trento discussed and approved the budget 2015 for the University. 

The document includes the budget 2015, the three-year budget 2015-2017 and the new summary tables, as required by the “new accounting principles and budget scheme for the balance sheet drafting” to be implemented in 2015 for the first time.
 
The budget 2015 includes the construction projects and was closes with an almost breakeven result, amounting to 241 million EUR. The budget was approved unanimously. 

The amount of the available resources allowed for the allocation of 6.5 million EUR required implementing the actions foreseen in the Strategic Plan 2014-2015.

The fund allocated by the Autonomous Province of Trento for 2015 on the basis of the State/Province agreement, amounts to 118.41 million EUR. 

The contributions for operating expenses - which does not include the expenses for the University investments - is made of: a basic amount, for the operating costs (108.21 million EUR), the amount devoted to the funding of specific development programmes as established by the ‘Atto di indirizzo’ (6.69 million EUR), and the amount devoted to the evaluation of the results achieved by the University in the field teaching, research and internationalisation activities (3.51 million EUR).
 
The University own revenue include the EU funding for research grants awarded for prestigious research projects (34.33 million EUR) and the University fees paid by students (18.79 million EUR). 

The running costs include 79.92 million EUR to cover for the total staff expenses. They meet the criteria for the staff expenses established by the Stability Pact 2014 and the current laws.

As for the University construction and estates plan, 23.73 million EUR have been allocated, partially devoted to the development projects of the premises of Rovereto and Povo. 

The costs related to advanced training and research activities amount to 13.00 million EUR, while 7.28 million EUR have been allocated to finance scholarships, mobility and sports activity. This item includes the Money awards to graduates. In 2015 they will receive a percentage of the paid university fee, used for merit-based grants to be paid back at the end of their studies. 

2.7 million EUR have been allocated for internationalisation activities, while 4.15 million EUR have been allocated to the University Library System.
