Researchers' Night 2015 is back in Trento

Versione stampabile

Next September 25, starting at 5:00 pm the rendezvous with Researchers’ Night: the event lights up the spotlight on research and its leaders, in hundreds of cities across Europe all at the same time.

A special night for a special edition: we are celebrating ten years since the beginning of the initiative organised  by the European Commission to promote research communication. An event of very large success that reached over 70 million people in 300 cities of the continent, last year alone.

In Trento the European Night of research reopens thanks to the collaboration among the research institutions of the region: University of Trento, Bruno Kessler Foundation, Edmund Mach Foundation and MUSE Science Museum.

To host the event will be the Trento Fiere pavilions (via Briamasco) and Palazzo delle Albere, where there will be demonstrations, labs, dinners with researchers, scientific coffees and aperitifs, but also new formats like “speed-dating” with researchers, one to one discussions and flash-talks.

The theme launched for the 2015 edition in Trento is very special: “The five senses plus one”.

An interactive route through demos, labs and theme-activities will steer adults and children to think about what guides our everyday life. Among sounds, colours, perceptions, images and scents, the “sixth sense” which the Night of Researchers will tell is the intuition that, together with creativity, perseverance and spirit of innovation, drives the researchers in their work toward the development of knowledge.

As in the previous editions the objective of the Researchers’ Night is to tell the various professions of research, the “behind the scene” of science, and the impact research has on everyday life.

As usual, the event will be free of charge; some activities will require previous booking. For the occasion MUSE will be open until 11:00 pm.

The event is sponsored by the European Commission, by the Autonomous Province of Trento, the Trento Municipality and it takes place thanks to the contributions of Casse Rurali Trentine, Cassa Rurale of Aldeno and Cadine, Ottica Romani, Gest - sound and light, Sadesign and the support of eit Digital.

Waiting to know in details the busy schedule for the evening of September 25, which will know in a few days, the Researchers’ Night website is already online.
