The University of Trento offers its students several courses in which there is a focus on european institutions, and the city of Trento hosts numerous associations that deal with European issues.
In order to encourage students to get more interested and engaged in such themes, the Model European Union Trento Association, with the collaboration of Jean Monnet Center of Excellence, organizes an european decisional process simulation, which will offer participants the chance to experience firsthand what it means to be part of the EU. The simulation follows the Model European Union simulation that took place in Trento in 2016, as well as those that had a great success all over the Europe in the last years.
This year, the simulation is open to students participating to the Erasmus programme and international students, in addition to local students from every Department of the University of Trento. In fact, one of the main goals is to involve all the students that have an interest for european politics.
Besides the educational and didactical aspect of the simulations, some social activities have been also prepared, in order to encourage some networking between the participating students.

Participants will be awarded with 4 ECTS (applicable to students from the Department of Sociology and Social Research ONLY).
The simulation will take place from the 16th to the 18th of November 2017 at the Department of Sociology and Social Research in Trento.
● On Thursday evening there will be an opening ceremony, where the MEU format will be explained and tested. There will be also a panel discussion about some nowadays topic or related to the proposals.
● Friday and Saturday will be dedicated to the Commission’s proposals discussions in the Parliament and in the Council.
The registrations will be open till the 16th of October 2017, whereas the application period for
President/Vice President positions will be open till the 8th of October.
