CENSIS rankings: UniTrento still among top universities

The University ranks second in the category of medium-sized universities and in the ranking of State universities

In the 2017/2018 report published today, the University of Trento ranks second with a final score of 99.2 points in the category of medium-sized universities and in the ranking of State universities. Just 0.2 points shy of the top position.
The University of Trento achieved an excellent score this year too in the Censis report on Italian universities that was published today. With a final score of 99.2 points, the University is second (it ranked first last year) both in the general ranking of State universities and in its category (medium-sized universities, with 10,000-20,000 students). The University of Siena is leading the ranking, by a very short margin, with 99.4 points. Behind Trento are the universities of Sassari (97.8), Trieste (92.8) and Udine (90.4).

The University in general terms - The score achieved by the university is the mean average of the scores awarded for five different parameters. The University of Trento obtained, in particular, 110 points for “communication and digital services” (compared to 108 last year), 102 points for its “facilities” (103 last year), 100 for scholarships and other student aids (compared to 102), 94 for international outlook (compared to 93) and 90 for the services (93 last year).

Teaching - Excellent ranking for the 5-year master’s degree in Law, which is 1st in its group (last year it ranked 2nd). Undergraduate language degrees rank in the 2nd position (up from the 5th last year). Courses in the economics-statistics area go up from the 6th to the 4th position, those in the social sciences-politics area rise from the 5th to the 4th.
Courses in the area of psychology maintain the 5th place. Undergraduate science degrees reach the 6th place (up from the 8th). Undergraduate engineering degrees rank 9th (down from 7th position).
To conclude, courses in the humanities are ranked 19th (17th last year) and the master’s course in Construction engineering-Architecture is ranked 23rd (24th last year).
