Welcome to the new students of the Collegio di Merito Bernardo Clesio

Versione stampabile

220 students applied to be admitted to the Collegio di Merito, to live an even more complete and richer University experience. However, only 16 of them (11 for Humanities discipline and 5 for scientific courses) were selected as the best and most motivated students of the undergraduate and five-year courses of the University of Trento.

They will be granted not only free accommodation in the city centre, in the new flats in the ex Prepositura building, but also having many more opportunities to cultivate their personal talents in a lively environment, rich in stimuli, interacting with other students coming from all over the world. The opportunity to exchange of views and study topics, according to the Collegio’s philosophy, creates the ideal conditions to positively live the university experience.

For this reason the Collegio promotes cultural and scientific initiatives, conferences and seminars, also with the participation of some UniTrento professors, together with tutoring activities and socialisation and leisure activities.

The welcome ceremony was held on 28 October, in the Collegio’s headquarter in via Santa Margherita. They were welcomed by the pro-rector for the Collegio di Merito, Maurizio Giangiulio together with the Head of the Education and student services management,  Paolo Zanei and some members of the selection committees.

Over the years, since its foundation in 2010, the Collegio has hosted 135 students, 53 of whom have participated in international mobility programmes. The project is promoted by the University of Trento, in cooperation with the Opera Universitaria, with the support of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Trento e Rovereto, and it has already brought positive results.
The undergraduate students demonstrated their engagement and continuous effort in their study careers: 18 of them have obtained their degree in an average time of 2 and half years, obtaining the top mark: 110 cum laude. Eight of them have been granted a place in the Collegio also during their master’s course.
Also the students of the master’s courses have obtained good results: 22 of them have obtained their title in an average time of 2 and half years, with the mean final mark of 107.4/110.
