There are currently 47 student-athletes, engaged in 25 different sports, at the University of Trento. They are all enrolled in the University’s TopSport program, which has accepted about 60 students so far.

The 13 newly admitted students for the 2017-2018 academic year gathered yesterday at Collegio Bernardo Clesio in Trento to meet their peers and, most of all, to introduce themselves to their tutors and their departments’ delegates for sport, who will support them all along their studies.

TopSport was established in 2011 as one of the first dual career programs in Italy to support professional athletes who want to pursue their education at University level, so that they can manage their studies and sporting commitments.

This program helps students-athletes keep up with their studies, gives them the opportunity to make flexible arrangements for exam sessions, and offers them tailored support from a personal tutor in all academic matters.

The new students were welcomed by Rector Paolo Collini, the Managing Director Alex Pellacani, and the University’s Delegate for Sport, Paolo Bouquet, with the staff of UniTrento.Sport.
