Carla Locatelli is confirmed again as the head of ASEA-UNINET, the network of European and Asian universities.

The professor of the University of Trento was elected president for the 2016-2018 term by the unanimous vote of the assembly on the occasion of the ASEA-UNINET Plenary Meeting 2016, which was recently held in Bali (Indonesia). Carla Locatelli has already held the positions of European coordinator and president of ASEA-UNINET in precedent terms.

Today, more than 70 universities in Europe and Asia are part of ASEA-UNINET (the Asean-European Academic University Network), which was founded in 1994.

The assembly votes on admissions in plenary meetings based on the academic excellence of the candidate University.

The Italian members of the network are, besides the University of Trento, the Politecnico of Milan, the University of Genoa and the University of Brescia, which currently is the coordinator for Italy.

ASEA-UNINET aims at fostering cooperation between Europe and Asia by promoting common activities in the field of research and education through exchanges, scholarships and other initiatives. The overall goal is to promote a cross sector dialogue and to contribute to the continuous renewal of knowledge.

Thanks to student mobility, especially at the level of master’s degrees, doctoral courses and post-graduate education, young people can expand their horizon to the benefit of their lives, their research work and their professional development.
