H2020 Societal Challenge 2 "Food security, sustainable agriculture and forestry, marine and maritime and inland water research and the bioeconomy"

The purpose of this workshop is to provide to academic and non academic representatives of the EUREGIO area (Alto Adige - Tyrol -Trentino) and surrounding regions the opportunity to explore and evaluate the new funding opportunities provided by EC within the next H2020 calls included under the Societal Challenge 2 "Food security, sustainable agriculture and forestry, marine and maritime and inland water research and the bioeconomy".

The objectives of SC2 actions are to supports new solutions based on research and innovation which can contribute to guarantee appropriate supplies of safe, healthy and high-quality food and other bio-based products from sustainable and resource-efficient production systems.

Accordingly, the thematic focus of this workshop will cover all the objectives of the Horizon 2020 SC2 work programme for 2018-2020, with particular emphasis on the bioeconomy.
It will target a wide spectrum of companies, universities, government organisations, and others involved in research, from the Alpine area and beyond, interested in sharing new project ideas and finding collaboration partners.
The ambition is to stimulate the crucial role of such regions, which already in the past have proven to be important players in European development and innovation policies, in boosting a sustainable European bioeconomy.

The Work Programme for 2018-2020 and new funding opportunities under the SC2 2018 calls for proposals will be presented.
Research institutions, scientific centres of excellence, local public authorities, entrepreneurs and innovation organisations are welcome to contribute to this event.
