Think Open at CIMeC | Power analysis for Neuroimaging
Think Open @ CIMeC, the open science initiative of the Center for Mind/ Brain sciences, as part of the Departments of Excellence project, organizes a virtual symposium.
Pre-registration checklists include, among other things, an estimation of the targeted effect size of the study that might be tricky to calculate for neuroimaging studies. In this symposium two speakers from the international community will illustrate several approaches to tackle this problem, in order to facilitate and promote the open science practice of preregistration.
Program
- 15:00 - 15:45 - Frauke Beyer - Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences, Leipzig, DE. No more blobs in dead fish - how to improve reproducibility of fMRI studies using pre-registration and power analyses;
- 16:00 - 16:45 - Cameron Ellis - Haskins Laboratories, New Haven, USA. Facilitating open-science with realistic fMRI simulation;
- 16:45 - 17:15 Open discussion with the speakers.
The event will be in English.
