On the compactness of the set of solutions of the CR Yamabe problem in three dimensions

Abstract

CR manifolds are manifolds endowed with a certain structure whose definition is motivated by the study of real hypersurfaces of complex manifolds. In CR geometry problems analogous to problems in conformal geometry arise naturally. In this talk we will describe a recent result of compactness for the CR Yamabe problem in three dimensions, after a review of the analogous problem for Riemannian manifolds and a short introduction to CR manifolds.
