Location: Department of Sociology and Social Research, via Verdi 26, Trento, Italy.

The aim of the School is to provide junior researchers with the opportunity to discuss issues concerning gender differences in economic and social life, where labour market experiences are only a fraction of more complex interactions, including mating and marriage, fertility and care giving, cohabitation and retirement. Aiming to multidisciplinary exchanges, the school will be opened and concluded by the talk of the two well-known lecturers – with different scholarly backgrounds, but common research interest in gender-specific behaviours.”

Lecturers
•    Cecilia García-Peñalosa - University of Marseille
•    Melinda Mills - University of Oxford

Participants
The school offers 15 places for doctorate and post-doctorate researchers (with a maximum of five year from the completion of their dissertation) in economics and/or in sociology who are conducting research on inequality. Participants are expected to attend the school full time, present their own work and discuss those of their colleagues.

Participants are required to present a paper based on their own research. Each paper will be assigned two discussants among the other participants, before collecting comments by senior lecturers and giving the discussion to the floor.
