Fuori dall'Ombra - Out of the shadow

In 2021, two red benches were designed and installed in the Mesiano Campus and in the Fabio Ferrari 1 Building in Povo as part of the "Out of the Shadow" project to encourage reflection on the phenomenon of violence against women.

The benches were selected among the projects presented by groups of students of the University of Trento, which had already been put on display at the Mesiano University Library. 

The exhibition of these projects at the Central University Library provides a further opportunity to reflect on the phenomenon of violence against women and to discuss the role of architecture in a social perspective.

The event is organized in collaboration with the Trento unit of the Un.I.Re. - Networked universities against gender-based violence

Programme

Opening address: Barbara Poggio, Vice Rector for equality and diversity policies at the University of Trento

Speakers:

• Marina Calloni, University of Milano-Bicocca; national coordinator of the Un.I.Re. network;
• Lucia Krasovec Lucas, Inarch Triveneto;

Moderator:

• Maria Micaela Coppola, Department of Psychology and Cognitive Science, University of Trento;

Conclusions:

• Marco Tubino, Department of Civil, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering, University of Trento; coordinator of the coordination committee of the Unicittà project.

The students' projects participating in "Out of the Shadow" will be on display on the ground floor of the BUC from 27 April to 27 May 2022.
