reCreating Europe, in collaboration with projects DANCING and inDICEs, and with MuSe Science Museum in Trento, and Mart Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento e Rovereto in Rovereto, organizes a traveling workshop on access to culture and accessibility, diversity and inclusion in the cultural industry.

The programme includes panels focused on theoretical and practical aspects combined with training sessions in Italian.

  • The first day of the workshop (26 May), at the MuSe Science Museum, will be entirely in English with one panel on museums, intellectual property and access to culture, and another one on barriers to access to digital culture for vulnerable groups. A training session will take place in the afternoon, in Italian, in particular for museum staff but also for other professionals, on the legal and practical aspects of digitisation.
  • The second day of the workshop (27 May) will take place at the Mart museum. An English to Italian interpreter will be present and, for some activities, a sign language interpreter will be present too (Italian sign language). On this day, one panel will focus on fostering accessibility for persons with disabilities in cultural organisations: legal tools, experiences and best practices, while another will look at digitisation, copyright and creativity in placemaking. A sensory experience of touch (max number of participants: 20) will take place in the afternoon.

The full programme of the event (in English) can be found on the dedicated website.

The event is open to all, including professionals, students and the general public.

Attendance is free of charge – registration is required. Maximum capacity of 100 participants for panels, different capacity for training sessions and museum guided tours. Please note that lunch options are available at both venues (lunch is optional and should be paid by each participant), but prior notice through the registration form is welcomed, to allow the venues to cater for everyone.
