Creating a winning culture is critical for both startups and large companies alike. Culture is shaped from the people in the company and it becomes the company itself. In this talk Chuck will talk about how company culture is created, managed and maintained. Chuck will also talk about size vs speed when it comes to how startups operate in comparison to large organization and how startups can leverage a culture of speed to outrun and outsmart the larger and more established competition.

BIOGRAPHY
Chuck is co-founder and CEO of VUI, Inc., the world’s most advanced enterprise voice platform. Prior to VUI, Chuck served as an investment partner at Great Hill Partners, securing $200 million in funding and creating a rollup strategy for enterprise mobility companies in growth mode. Before Great Hill Partners, Chuck founded Apperian, and worked with Kleiner Perkins and Intel Capital to build Apperian into a market leader in Mobile Application Management (MAM) services space. As Apperian's founder and CEO, Chuck raised over $28 million in venture capital and built a close-knit mobile ecosystem of developers, brands, retailers, enterprises and integrators. Apperian built the first B2B and B2C mobile platforms for Apple’s largest enterprise customers resulting in 15 top 10 Apps on the App Store.
Prior to Apperian, Chuck was a Director at Apple for 9 years, where he formed an enterprise division at the request of Tim Cook that become one of the fastest growing revenue generating divisions at Apple and set the table for iOS’s dominance in enterprise mobility today. Chuck also led the launch of the iPhone in 2007 into the enterprise and managed Apple’s iPhone Enterprise Beta Program, working closely with Fortune 500 CIOs to think beyond the Blackberry and into the App world. Chuck served as Apple's executive lead, working directly for Steve Jobs, to bring his vision of 1:1 (one laptop per child) computing in education to life by deploying more than seventy thousand computers in the State of Maine's 1:1 Laptop Program. Prior to Apple, Chuck founded and sold two technology companies. Chuck works extensively as a mentor at MassChallenge, TechStars, and Y Combinator and advises several technology startups in Boston and California. He lives in Boston with his wife and three college-aged boys.
