Presentation

SuXr, which reads “super”, stands for "university students for refugees".

The new edition of the SuXr Project will take place from February to April 2021.

The initiative is part of the wider project "asylum seekers to University" launched by the University of Trento in collaboration with Cinformi and the Autonomous Province of Trento.

SuXr aims to train and raise awareness of issues relating to migrations, including by introducing students to volunteerism through a participatory and learning by doing approach.

The series includes 8 online training sessions lasting 2 hours each. The first part of each session will focus on training, while in the second part one or more organizations will present their activities. In the last meeting, on 2 April 2021, the participants will have the opportunity to discuss with the organizations that host volunteers. No credits are awarded for attending this latter meeting.

If you would like to participate please register as soon as possible, as long as there are places available.

All students enrolled at the University of Trento are welcome to participate.

The meetings will take place online, students are required to register for each event.

Information and registrations

At the end of each session, the participants will have the opportunity to make contact with the organizations they are more interested in to start a volunteering experience (75 hours to be volunteered over a one-year period). The volunteering experience may include different activities, some of which may be online.

At the end of the volunteering experience, the hosting organization will certify the work done and inform the University, which will issue the certificate. Some departments award university credits (3 CFU) to students who participate in the project. In particular the Department of Psychology and Cognitive Sciences awards internship credits; the Department of Sociology and Social Research and the Faculty of Law award learning credits ("a scelta libera"), while the other departments award extra credits.

Participation is free but, for organizational purposes, registration is required. Please register within 2 days of each event by filling in the appropriate online registration form. All those who registered for an event will receive their login credentials before the event.
