Course Content

The course introduces particular electrochemical techniques used in the characterization of the protective performance of coatings. Specifically, dr. Souto Suarez presents innovative methods, based on meaurements of potential, current and electrochemical impedance, fundamental for the accurate study of the electrochemical behavior of materials.


Full Professor at the Department of Chemistry of the University of La Laguna (Spain) since 2008, dr. Souto Suarez has specialized in the study of metal corrosion phenomena and in processes for improving the artifacts’ durability. In detail, dr. Souto Suarez has always paid attention to the electrochemical aspects of the degradation processes of materials, designing and optimizing electrochemical techniques for the characterization of the protective behavior of coatings and layers.
