Abstract:

In this presentation I will summarize the main features of an intriguing class of strongly entangled states, the so-called cluster states. Such states are at the heart of one-way quantum computing, where entanglement is created in the initial state, and then manipulated by only local operation and measurements. Perspectives in this direction as well as possible schemes to generate cluster states will be briefly discussed.
