Abstract

Parametric fluorescence in integrated resonators: from photonic molecules to linearly uncoupled resonators

Spontaneous parametric down-conversion and spontaneous four-wave mixing can be greatly enhanced in integrated photonic structures thanks to the temporal and spatial confinement of light. Yet, the advantage of integrated optics for the generation of nonclassical light goes beyond the simple increase in efficiency. By combining more resonant elements, one can achieve precise and reconfigurable control of the nonlinear interaction hardly achievable with bulk optics. In this talk, I will present the use of reconfigurable photonic structures for the generation of two-photon states and bright squeezed light, exploring different materials platforms from silicon-nitride to thin-film lithium niobate.
