Abstract:
The identifiability problem for tensors corresponds to understanding whether a tensor admits a unique rank decomposition or not. In the first part of this talk we investigate the identifiability problem in the case of specific tensors and we classify all identifiable tensors of rank either 2 or 3.
Motivated by the identifiability problem, in the second part of this talk we study all finite sets of points of a Segre variety for which the rank of the differential of the map between the abstract secant variety and the secant variety drops. We describe the related results for the case of either 2 or 3 points.
