METHODOLOGICAL WEBINAR: Teaching Sustainability through Debate
Abstract
The workshop will showcase debate as an effective teaching methodology applicable across all educational levels and subjects. Originating from classical ars oratoria and influenced by Anglo-Saxon and American traditions, debate has become a key component in curricula and popular culture through 'debate clubs.' The session will cover the theoretical and methodological foundations of formative and competitive debate, guiding participants in its application across disciplines. It will focus on practical, hands-on activities, including motion formulation, planning, team formation, research, performance, and evaluation, offering tools that can be immediately integrated into teaching practices.
