"Global Perspectives on Fair and Equitable Benefit-sharing"
The University of Trento’s School of International Studies will host a workshop entitled “Global Perspectives on Fair and Equitable Benefit-sharing” on 15-16 October 2018. The workshop is part of the BeneLex project, funded by the European Research Council. The project is led by Prof. Elisa Morgera at the University of Strathclyde, and research fellows that include Prof. Louisa Parks of the University of Trento’s School of International Studies and Department of Sociology and Social Research of the University of Trento. The project focuses on benefit-sharing, a legal tool used in international environmental law that seeks to ensure that all those involved in protecting the environment receive a fair share of the many advantages that come about from their work. The project began in 2013 - as it reaches its end, this workshop will gather a range of scholars to reflect on its findings and how they relate to broader questions raised in the field of environmental governance.
