The director general of the University of Trento, Alex Pellacani, has been confirmed in his post for three more years. The Board of Directors of the University of Trento, which met yesterday at Palazzo Sardagna, unanimously decided to renew the mandate of the general director for another term from 2022 to 2025.

An alumnus of the University with a degree in Economics and Commerce, originally from Bolzano, Alex Pellacani has been the director general of the University of Trento since 2015. As established by article 28 of the University Charter, the post of director general is assigned by the Board of Directors, acting on the proposal of the Rector and in agreement with the President, to a highly qualified person with proven experience of managerial roles over many years. The director general is responsible, among other things, for the overall management and organisation of the offices and services of the University, for its technical and administrative staff and for its material resources. Within the limits of his powers, he assists the Rector and the University bodies in carrying out their roles and supervises, to the extent to which he has responsibility, the implementation of the relative directives and decisions. To this end, the director general establishes, in compliance with the University’s strategic plan, the multiyear plan for the development of services and quality improvement, and reports once a year on its implementation. He also serves as a liaison with the University’s governing bodies, coordinates the seven directorates of the University, and implements the plans, programmes and decisions adopted by the Rector, the Board of Directors, and by other academic bodies, and maintains relationships with external institutions.
