ECIU-SMART-ER Seed promotes the development of research careers and the implementation of a shared R&I agenda through international, interdisciplinary and cross-sector initiatives for international education, mobility and collaboration among researchers from ECIU member universities. All initiatives contribute to the achievement of the objectives of Goal 11 of the UN SDG.
The Seed programme supports initiatives focused in three main directions:
- Co-tutelle of PhD students and industrial doctorates to support the initiation, preparation and establishment of joint supervision agreements, namely co-tutelle programmes of Doctoral students and joint supervision under industrial doctorates.
- Blended mobility to create networks to support the development of networks on the basis of a joint research and innovation plan.
- SMART-ER Seed Projects to support the development of inter-institutional research and innovation seed projects aimed at resolving the SDG11 challenges.
The deadline to apply is 18 March 2022.
To participate in the programme, applicants must also provide a support letter signed by the Director of their Department or Center.
