Roberto Margoni appointed director of the Purchasing Directorate

He took office yesterday at the new directorate of the University of Trento after many years at Trentino Digitale

Roberto Margoni is the director of the new Purchasing Directorate, one of the eight components that make up the management of the University of Trento. He took office yesterday for a three year term that can be renewed. The appointment follows a selection procedure that had taken place in recent months.

Born in 1966, a Law graduate of the University of Trento with a thesis on criminal procedure, and a legal professional, Margoni was the head of the Purchasing and Legal Division, compliance and corporate affairs at Trentino Digitale since 2012.

Before that, Roberto Margoni held executive posts at the Province of Trento as head of the project for the implementation of institutional reform (Provincial Law 3/2006); head of the Structural Funds Office, where he was responsible for local development programming; head of the Office of Administrative Legal Support, which operates in the approval and implementation of public works and in the acquisition of goods and services in the area of cultural heritage.

He has served as a legal consultant on multiple occasions, in particular in matters of public contracts and to protect the interests of the public administration.

At the University of Trento, he will now lead the new Purchasing Directorate, that oversees the University's purchases, through planning and optimization activities of the entire procurement process for all goods and services. The Directorate also defines guidelines to support the other offices, provides legal analyses, and elaborates assessments of the impact of procurement legislation on the organization.
