The Master's is organized with the universities of Verona and Parma and classes will be held at Villa Sant'Ignazio

Versione stampabile

The Master's is organized with the universities of Verona and Parma and, for this edition, classes will be held at Villa Sant'Ignazio in Trento. This is the third edition of "Saperi in Transizione. Strumenti e pratiche per una cittadinanza ecologica e globale". Three scholarships are available for the participants: for the first time, funding was raised through a social crowdfunding campaign

The ecological transition is a necessary step to build an environmentally and socially sustainable world. And it requires skills and instruments appropriate to the complexity of the challenges we have to face.

To provide these skills and instruments, the universities of Trento, Verona and Parma have launched "Saperi in Transizione. Strumenti e pratiche per una cittadinanza ecologica e globale", a first-level master's degree that will train professionals in the field of education and the social design of sustainable environments. The master's is organized in collaboration with the TiLT - Territori in Libera Transizione research laboratory of the University of Verona.

After Verona and Parma, this year the master will also be available in Trento, with classes taking place at Villa Sant'Ignazio, a historic social cooperative on the city's hill.

And this year, for the first time, the master obtained funding through a crowdfunding campaign that raised money to offer three scholarships that will partially cover the registration fee. This sustainable and solidarity-based approach that promotes cooperation at the local level benefits the entire community of the region.

The master's graduates will be able to work proficiently in the fields of social design, art and culture and education, in public and private services, at local, national and international level. With one goal: to develop ecological and global citizenship.

The programme

The master's includes online and face-to-face activities, with lectures, guided tours and workshops. Students will have the opportunity to meet major Italian experts in the field of the ecological and social transition, and to know some of the most significant examples of economic transformation.

The 2022 edition is coordinated by the University of Trento, and in particular by a working group of the Department of Sociology and Social Research that includes, in addition to the master's director, professor Francesca Forno, Chiara Bassetti, Anna Casaglia, Alice Dal Gobbo and Natalia Magnani.

Applicants must hold an undergraduate, master's, or single-cycle degree, a degree awarded under the previous system or equivalent foreign degree. Applications can be submitted online by 12.00 on Monday 14 November 2022. The master's will start with at least 15 participants, and the places available are 25.

Three scholarships are available. For the first time, the scholarships have been funded through a "social" crowdfunding. The fundraising campaign was launched on 1 May during the Milan edition of "Fa' la cosa giusta!" and in two months raised 3,876 euro through 16 donations. This demonstrates how the involvement of citizens and local communities can bring positive change that benefits the whole community.
