UniTrento stands in solidarity with Iranian women and condemns all forms of violence

Versione stampabile

The University of Trento, with the Network of Italian Universities for Peace, stands in solidarity with Iranian students enrolled in Italian universities and, in general, with all Iranian women and the many young Iranian men who are courageously protesting these days.

The University firmly condemns the violence that is happening in Iran, where men and women are risking their lives to call for justice, freedom and respect for human life and human rights.

The University also stands in solidarity with all its Iranian students, as we cannot ignore the violation of human rights and the discrimination against Iranian women in their country.

University of Trento shares the concern of the international academic community and supports the statement of the Italian section of Scholars at Risk (SAR Italy) about the current violations of the human rights of students and staff at Iranian universities, higher education institutions and secondary schools.

That is why the University of Trento has launched an awareness-raising campaign on social media with the hashtag #MahsaAmini, hoping that this small but impactful initiative will give voice to the protests and help make the university community even more aware of the current situation in Iran.
