UniTrento and Fondazione Fiemme Per signed today in Cavalese a framework agreement for the development of projects in four areas, while maintaining a focus on young people and collaborations with the private sector

The framework agreement signed today between the University of Trento and the Fiemme Per Foundation is built around four main areas: environment and green community, sustainable mobility, energy transition and local development. The five-year collaboration plan collects, reorganizes and structures the initiatives launched by the university in the Fiemme Valley over the years in the area of teaching, continuing education and research. The agreement was signed in the home of the Magnifica comunità this afternoon by rector Flavio Deflorian and the president of the Foundation Mauro Gilmozzi.

The framework agreement provides for the implementation of actions aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and employment in mountain areas, and the organisation of training and cultural initiatives on the themes of sustainability, work-life balance and organisational well-being. The activities will take place at the "Fiemme Academy", a facility that will promote studies and research and encourage the involvement of the local community while paying particular attention to social fragility and support to young people. The goals of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development will provide the background for the activities included in the Fiemme Per Foundation Plan and the 2022-27 Strategic Plan of the University of Trento.

The agreement strengthens the collaboration between the University and the Fiemme Valley, by giving the parties the opportunity to develop projects and educational, study and integrated research programmes in areas of common interest, as well as activities for the communication, dissemination and valorization of research. The agreement includes a personnel exchange programme, the sharing of resources and knowledge, the promotion of cultural initiatives and scientific dissemination. The agreement also provides for the establishment of a Coordination Committee composed of six representatives, three for each party, who will participate in working groups on various topics of interest. They will also draft policies on some current issues such as the ecological transition, social housing and sustainable mobility.

The agreement will also facilitate collaboration with the companies, associations and professionals of Val di Fiemme, and will help identify young talents who can participate in the courses offered by the University in the areas of tourism, sustainability and sport, with a view to recognising their skills.

A long-lasting collaboration. Among the initiatives launched by UniTrento in recent years to meet the needs of local communities is, for example, the part-time Bachelor's degree in Business Management, offered by the Department of Economics and Management in Predazzo in collaboration with Comunità territoriale di Fiemme and Comun General de Fascia. The degree programme aims to provide training in the area of economics, law and mathematics-statistics and has been designed for young people and for local professionals who would like to obtain a further qualification or professional improvement. This degree programme, in fact, aims to meet the needs of employers at banks, in the business sector and public or private organizations, in the administrative, management, financial or commercial area. The flexibility of the course, compared to the usual timetable, makes this degree particularly attractive for those who reside in the valley and are already working.
