The University of Trento stands with LGBTQIA+ people and celebrates Pride Month to remember the importance of the fight for the visibility and rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans*, queer, intersex and asexual people.
The Progress Pride Flag will be displayed at the departments and centres of the University for the entire month of June, as the symbol adopted by the LGBTQIA+ community for inclusion and opposition to all forms of discrimination. On the occasion of Pride Month 2024, the University also inaugurates a section of its website dedicated to initiatives on gender identity and sexual orientation.
UniTrento remains committed to reviewing its organizational models, procedures, services and communication to ensure inclusive study and work environments where everyone is free from discrimination and prejudice.
The available services include: the "alias identity" for transgender and gender non-conforming individuals; membership in the National Conference of Equality Bodies of Italian universities and in other organizations; psychological counselling and the "Come as you are" counselling service; policies on the use of spaces and the use of gender-neutral language.
UniTrento also promotes research and education on these issues, and encourages a cultural reflection to respect different affective, sexual and identity orientations and affiliations, including at the local level.
For more information, please visit the dedicated section on the University website.
A calendar of Prides organized in Italy in 2024 is also available.
