Festivalmeteorologia is back.

From Friday 17 to Sunday 19 November the city of Rovereto will host, for the third time, the Festivalmeteorologia, an event organized by the University of Trento, the Municipality of Rovereto, Trentino Sviluppo and Fondazione Museo Civico di Rovereto.

The Meteorology Festival has become, through the years, a unique occasion for the different sectors of Italian meteorology to meet, interact and share their knowledge. The details of the programme were revealed yesterday to local media in the Council room of the Rovereto Town Hall.

The theme of this year’s edition is Meteorology: between science and technology.

The programme includes meetings and conferences, educational activities and games, workshops, exhibits and competitions, with booths for public entities, businesses and organizations.

Festivalmeteorologia brings together people working in weather forecast services, professionals and companies in the field, researchers, schools and meteorology enthusiasts.

The participants will discuss the subject of meteorology as a science that employs technology in order to grow, but which also plays an important role in the development of new technologies to be used in weather forecast applications.

Among the guests and speakers are Erik Andersson, Vice Director of ECMWF, the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts in Reading (UK), and Luca Mercalli, President of the Italian Meteorological Society and environmental journalist.
