Versione stampabile

Paolo Grossi, jurist, historian and honorary president of the Constitutional Court, Lucrezia Reichlin, economist and professor of the London Business School, and Nadio Delai, sociologist and company manager, are the new members of the Committee for the appointment of governors, which is tasked to give opinions on the candidatures to the University’s Board of Directors, which is responsible for the general government and planning of the University.

The three members were selected days ago by the Autonomous Province of Trento in agreement with the Academic Senate, as required by the Charter, from among people possessing proven professional competence and experience in posts of an academic or administrative nature in complex institutions and who have no conflict of interest with the University as per the University’s Code of Ethics.

The University gave its green light at the meeting of the Academic Senate of 20 June, but the appointments will be formalised pursuant to a measure adopted by the Province in the next days.

The mandate for the members of the Committee for the Appointment of Governors lasts six years and is not renewable.

The members of the Committee will evaluate the profiles of candidates proposed respectively by the Autonomous Province of Trento (three members), the Academic Senate (three members) and the Ministry of Education, Universities and Research (one member).

The Board of Directors has seven appointed members, plus the Rector and the President of the Council of Students who are members by right.

Their mandates last six years and expire at different times.

The Committee shall give its opinion as soon as possible to replace the governors whose mandate ends in 2018: one is to be appointed by the Province (replacing president Innocenzo Cipolletta, whose mandate expires on 26 July), one by the Academic Senate (to replace professor Elisa Molinari) and one by the Ministry (dr. Raffaella Giavazzi). The opinion of the Committee for the Appointment of Governors is binding.

Once the Board of Directors is complete, the Province shall appoint the new president, who will stay in office for six years starting from the date of the appointment as member of the board.
