After the formal start of his mandate, the new Rector of the University of Trento, Paolo Collini, began to appoint the colleagues who will support him in his task.

He appointed the three members of the Academic Senate, to be chosen by the Rector, according to the Statute. He appointed Flavio Deflorian, Professor of Materials Science and Technology at the Department of Industrial engineering,  Giuseppina Orlandini, Professor of Nuclear and Sub nuclear Physics at the Department of Physics; and Gianni Santucci, Professor of Roman Law and Law of Antique Times at the Faculty of Law.

They will complete the team of Academic Senators who were elected by the academic community in 2013 (Carlo Buzzi and Paolo Gatti, for the Social, Humanities and Legal Studies; Aronne Armanini and Fabio Casati for the technical and scientific area) together with two representatives of the students (Carolina Foglia and Gabriele Hamel), who take part in the seats where they discuss topics regarding teaching activities, the right to study and services for students.

Flavio Deflorian was appointed by Collini Vice Rector.

Collini sent a message to the academic community: “I would like to thank the past members of the Academic Senate and Vice Rectors, who played a significant role in the governance of the University”. He also devoted some words to Aronne Armanini: “I wish to express my gratitude, also on behalf of the entire University, to Professor Aronne Armanini who acted as Rector in the delicate transition phase after the resignation of the former Rector, Professor Daria de Pretis”.
