The best theses on employment awarded today by Cgil, Cisl and Uil del Trentino

The link between labour productivity and second-level bargaining, the gender wage gap in Italy, cases of guaranteed minimum income and the contribution of behavioural economics to retirement savings: these are the topics of the four master degree theses that were awarded by Cgil, Cisl and Uil del Trentino, with the organization of the University of Trento, as the best theses on employment for the thirteenth edition.

The winners are:

  • Arianna Dalle Mule (master degree in Management) with the thesis “Produttività del lavoro e contrattazione di secondo livello” (labour productivity and second-level bargaining), supervised by Giorgio Bolego; 
  • Piero Della Giustina (master degree in Economics) with the thesis “The question of the gender wage gap in Italy. A study on the data of the Bank of Italy” (supervisor Paola Villa); 
  • Andrea Enas (master degree in Law) with the thesis “Il diritto ad una vita dignitosa: prospettive di reddito minimo di garanzia in Italia alla luce di alcune esperienze straniere” (the right to a dignified life: outlooks on a guaranteed minimum income in Italy in the light of some foreign experiences), supervised by Matteo Borzaga; 
  • Laura Pezzi (master degree in Finance) with the thesis “Decisioni di risparmio e architettura delle scelte. Sfruttare i risultati dell'economia comportamentale per accrescere il risparmio pensionistico” (Saving and how it can be done. Using the results of behavioural economics to increase retirement savings), supervised by Matteo Ploner.

The awards, worth 1000 euro each, were granted by Cgil, Cisl and Uil del Trentino.

The commencement took place today at the Faculty of Law with the participation of the Rector Paolo Collini, of the Head of the Faculty of Law Giuseppe Nesi and, for the Unions, with Franco Ianeselli for Cgil del Trentino, the Secretary General for Cisl del Trentino Lorenzo Pomini and the Provincial Secretary for Uil del Trentino Silvia Bertola.

At the end of the commencement, Franco Focareta, professor in labour law at the University of Bologna, also gave a speech titled “Regolamentazione della rappresentanza sindacale ed efficacia della contrattazione collettiva alla luce delle recenti riforme” (regulation of the union representation and effectiveness of collective bargaining in the light of recent reforms).
