Good news for two programmes of study offered by the Department of Civil, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering of the University of Trento.

The five-year Master’s programme in Construction engineering-Architecture and the Master’s programme in Energy engineering, offered jointly by UniTrento and the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, obtained the European Eur-Ace certificate.

This is another achievement for the University of Trento, in addition to the Departments of excellence designated by the Ministry and the periodic accreditation of programmes of study by Anvur (the Italian national agency for the evaluation of universities and research institutes).

In this case, however, the certification is awarded exclusively to engineering studies. The Eur-Ace (European Accredited Engineer) label, granted by the European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education (ENAEE – a non-profit organization), defines the standards that must be met by high-quality engineering programmes in Europe and worldwide. The parameters are established based on the points of view and perspectives of all stakeholders: the student community, higher education institutions, representatives of employers’ organizations, professional organizations and accreditation agencies. The Eur-Ace label is a valuable instrument to improve quality of teaching in engineering degree programmes, make it respond to employers and professionals’ demands, and streamline the profession at international level. The accreditation will also make the programmes more appealing to prospective students, employers and recruiters, it will encourage European mobility in the engineering sector and facilitate foreign degree recognition.
