The delegation, composed, among others, of Cao Daixue and Ge Xiaopeng (respectively vice secretary general and head of the general Office of the popular government of Sichuan), met with the rector Paolo Collini and the pro-rector at the international development, Maurizio Marchese.
Center of the discussion the important opportunities offered by the collaboration between a university with a strong international vocation as the University of Trento, and the province of Sichuan which hosts on its territory 94 universities and colleges and over a million students.
«To promote our students’ mobility, giving them the opportunity to be in direct contact with a reality of considerable economic and commercial development outlook is one of the objectives the rector has decided to pursue» Collini declared, underlining also the commitment of the University of Trento by strengthening study courses which would attract young students from all over the world.
The meeting consolidates the cooperation between Sichuan and the Trentino economic and cultural institutions, which began over a year ago with the signing, in January last year, of the tourism protocol of co-marketing between the Province of Trento and the heads of the Chinese government Agency for the tourism promotion with the beginning of the discussion of investment cooperation opportunities.
Sichuan is highly interested in the Made in Italy: the entrepreneurial Trentino system aims to be the first-entrant in one of the world major expanding market, with a PIL growth around 15%, in the last few years.
