Quarantine Radio is about to go on air for the international student community of UniTrento

Launched by Opera Universitaria and Sanbaradio with Associazione Teatrale Studentesca (ATU), Centro Musica and Cooperativa Mercurio

There are about 550 students from out of the region and, for the most part, from other countries, who are away from their families during the Covid-19 emergency: they are staying at the halls of residence of San Bartolameo, in via Malpensada, and Mayer, in piazzetta Valeria Solesin.

To keep them company and get them involved, Opera Universitaria and Sanbaradio, in collaboration with Associazione Teatrale Studentesca (ATU), Centro Musica and Cooperativa Mercurio, launched Quarantine Radio: a set of radio shows that will be broadcasted both live and in podcast from 27 March, to provide students with information on the ongoing emergency and give them a place where they can tell about themselves and socialise, while staying at a distance.

Quarantine Radio, the new format of Sanbaradio, will focus on student life at the times of Covid-19, and will air from 27 March on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 13.30.

The students of UniTrento will play a fundamental role in the show, because they are invited to tell their experience of self-isolation on the radio microphones..

Thanks to collaboration with ATU, the schedule will include some audio books in English, provided by Niccolò Pedelini e Angelica Beccari, while the Centro Musica will make available some music directed by Lorenzo Frizzera.

Students will have the opportunity to keep their mind and body in good health with advice from Francesco Boldrer and his yoga classes.

Opera Universitaria will air a message to the university community on every show, to tell students that they are not alone.

The initiative is based at Sanbaradio, the web radio of the Trento university community which, in these difficult times, is still airing live and in podcasts via its website www.sanbaradio.it and on other platforms like Spotify and Mixcloud.

Quarantine Radio goes side by side with the information that Opera Universitaria is providing to foreign students with the English translation of the press releases of the Autonomous Province of Trento, which are published on its website and social networks (Facebook, Telegram) for all citizens.
