The European Parliament will design economic development and monetary strategies based, among others, on the expertise of three UniTrento economists: the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs awarded a contract to the professors of the University days ago.

A contract for the provision of expertise in the context of the monetary dialogues with the European Central Bank, which are organized three times per year, was awarded to Roberto TamboriniLuigi Bonatti and Andrea Fracasso, full professors of Economic and statistical sciences of the Department of Economics and Management, the two latter being also affiliated with the School of International Studies of the University of Trento.

The Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs - ECON is the Committee of the European Parliament responsible for economic and monetary policies of the European Union.

It is made up of 60 members of Parliament and is currently chaired by Italian economist Irene Tinagli. The Committee collects the opinions of the various expert panels for the members of the European Parliament as preparatory documents on economic and monetary policies.

The three professors of UniTrento were selected by public procurement to provide their expertise to the members of the European Parliament.

The collaboration will continue for four years and should start this fall.

After many years, for the first time a contract of this type is awarded to experts from Italian institutions and universities. In addition to the professors of UniTrento, a research group of Luiss University was also awarded a contract.

A great opportunity to increase the visibility of UniTrento and of its researchers, and a recognition of the excellent research work carried out so far.
