Initiatives to remember Antonio Megalizzi: “non fermiamo questa voce”

11 and 14 December

Versione stampabile

Fondazione Antonio Megalizzi has launched two initiatives to remember Antonio and keep his memory alive in the second anniversary of the Strasbourg attack of 11 December 2018:

  • 11 December: “Non fermiamo questa voce”, a 24-hour radio marathon to listen to Antonio's voice for one more time;
  • 14 December: #antonioperme and Antonio's image will appear on the Torre Civica in Trento.

Together with RadUni – the network of Italian university radios – and Europhonica – the shared radio show focused on the European Union –, the Foundation joins the radio marathon "Non fermiamo questa voce", that will air on all the radios of RadUni on 11 December. A short message from the Rector of the University of Trento, Paolo Collini, will be aired during the 24-hour marathon.

The initiative aims to remember the victims of the Strasbourg Christmas market attack of 11 December 2018, in which Antonio Megalizzi and his colleague Bartosz Orent-Niedzielski were killed.

The reports and some recordings of Antonio Megalizzi from his time at Europhonica will be aired again during the marathon. Europhonica was created in 2015 by various European university radios to facilitate the dissemination of the European institutions and of European topics, economy and culture among young people.

Listeners will also have the chance to listen to "Cielo d'Acciaio", a story on Antonio Megalizzi recorded in 2019 by his colleagues of the Italian editorial team at Europhonica, and to some contributions on issues dear to Antonio, such as communication, journalism and European politics, authored by the members and supporters of the Foundation.

In addition to this, on 14 December, the City of Trento will project the image of Antonio created by Mauro Biani on the Torre Civica in Piazza Duomo.

To commemorate the day, Fondazione Antonio Megalizzi invites everyone to post images, memories or words about Antonio on social media platforms with the hashtag #antonioperme.
