The regional phase of the competition will take place in Trento on 19 March 2022

Versione stampabile

The Neuroscience Olympics are the Italian chapter of the International Brain Bee-IBB, an international competition for high school students aged between 13 and 19 that challenges students on their knowledge of neuroscience.

The topics students have to face include, among others: intelligence, memory, emotions, stress, ageing, sleep and nervous system disorders.

The purpose of the competition is to inspire school-age students to study the structure and functioning of the human brain and to attract young talents to pursue research careers in basic and clinical neuroscience, to tackle one of the millennium challenges.

The 2022 Neuroscience Olympics will take place in 3 stages:

  • At local level (18 February 2022): in schools. Every school selects its 3 best students
  • At regional level (18 and 19 March 2022): every region will select its best student. In Trentino Alto Adige, this phase will take place in Trento on Saturday 19 March 2022
  • At national level (9 and 10 May 2022): in Naples. The winner will be selected from among the best students of each region.

The winner will receive a scholarship to represent Italy in the international competition (IBB) that will take place in Paris (France) from 9 to 13 July 2022.
