A memorandum of understanding has been signed between the Center for Neurocognitive Rehabilitation - CeRiN of CIMeC and the Alzheimer's Association Trento ODV. CeRiN and the Alzheimer's Association Trento ODV undertake to promote and implement programs of joint activities designed to contribute to the advancement of science and its applications at the territorial level in the field of pathological aging. This is with particular regard to:
- Strengthening the communication channels between the University of Trento - CIMeC and the Alzheimer's Association Trento, in order to foster mutual awareness of the activities promoted, with a particular interest in research projects focused on pathological aging, as outlined within the Center's strategic project. This goal is intended to contribute to the advancement of science and to engage the population of interest in studies of high scientific relevance.
- Joint commitment to collaborate on research and the pursuit of community funding that supports activities related to the topic of pathological aging, with possible local and national spillovers.
- Development of joint initiatives aimed at achieving education and awareness goals by organizing events dedicated to the general population, the patient/family dyad, and professionals. These initiatives aspire to foster the enhancement and transfer of knowledge and evidence-based tools, as well as to increase public visibility on the topic of pathological aging and Alzheimer's disease.
- Development of joint initiatives aimed at increasing awareness of the importance of intervening in the early stages of cognitive decline in order to field interventions including through the use of nonpharmacological therapies tending to hinder/slow down the cognitive decline process in forms of dementia and Alzheimer's disease particularly related to pathological aging.
