Starting 2 new "Jean Monnet" projects

The European Commission has recently approved 2 Jean Monnet Modules, presented by UniTrento teachers with the support of the Jean Monnet Center of Excellence, as part of the Erasmus + Program.
The Modules are short mono or multidisciplinary teaching programs of at least 40 hours/year, in the field of European Studies.

"European Societies and Academic Freedom" - ESAF

Which aims at fostering knowledge among university communities and the civil society on freedom of research, teaching and learning and on institutional autonomy, as well as on past and present violations of these principles.
The Module is articulated around three sets of activities:
-  an inter-departmental and inter-disciplinary course in English, starting the Fall semester and titled ‘Academic Freedom and Human Rights: European and International Perspective’, open to all bachelor's, one-cycle and Erasmus UniTrento students. Organised jointly by the Department of Sociology and Social Research and the Faculty of Law;
- an annual cycle of public talks in Italian, open to the university community and civil society;
- a series of workshops and a final conference.

"Summer Module on Economics and Institutions in Europe" - SMEIE

Which will offer 20 students and PhD students and young researchers selected at international level, a week of 40 hours between lectures, second and group seminars, and other supplementary didactic activities related to visions, problems and challenges of the European integration process in the perspective of the enhancement of the variety of economies and institutions that foresee the European Union panorama.

Through the Jean Monnet Action, the European Commission finances initiatives for European innovation, integration and dissemination of content relating to the Union.

The Erasmus + Call, in which teachers can join new Jean Monnet projects, is published in the second half of October and in mid-February.
