Three new Jean Monnet projects approved

Starting next Autumn: one Chair, one Module and one Network within the Erasmus+ Program (2021 - 2027)

The European Commission has recently approved three Jean Monnet projects, submitted by UniTrento professors within the Erasmus+ Program (2021 - 2027).
Starting next autumn: one Chair, one Module (promoting teaching activities within European Studies among university students), and one Network “in other fields of education and training” (where UniTrento is a partner) aiming at training the high school teachers and spreading the EU values among students.

COTPA Chair (Contesting the Past of the EU: The Uses of History in (De-)Legitimating Narratives) aims to strengthen awareness in the academic community and public debate, on the use of history in the processes of political (de-)legitimation of the European Union.
The Chair offers educational activities and workshops addressed to bachelor and master's students, research seminars with international experts and events open to a large public organized in collaboration with local partners.

Duration: 3 years, coordinator: Gabriele D'Ottavio (Department of Sociology and Social Research)

Module EU-PROX (Innovating European Studies: Geopolitics and Sustainability of Enlargement), in collaboration with Osservatorio Balcani Caucaso Transeuropa, is devoted to forthcoming enlargment of the European Union.
It mainly involves interdisciplinary teaching activities (International Relations, European Studies, European Union Law, Security Studies, Comparative Public Rights) which have the aim of introducing university students to foreign policy and external governance of the EU as well as the mechanisms of preparation for accession.
Furthermore, series of seminars and training will be organized on topics such as: research methods in European studies; access to EU documents and primary sources; policy writing; dissemination and communication strategies; advocacy and lobbying activities. Curricular internships will also be organized as part of the Module.
The debate on EU enlargement will also take place outside the academic world during the next editions of "Estival" - Politics, Society and Culture of Eastern Europe and the Balkans.

EUCLASS Alliance (Bridging EU Vocational Schools for EU Education) is an international Network that aims to train, by using innovative methodologies, over 600 students and 60 teachers from Italian and European secondary schools.
The major issues addressed by the policies of the European Union will thus be conveyed, with particular reference to the environmental and climate crisis, and common values ​​and civic commitment will be promoted.
To achieve the objectives, numerous webinars, two residential seminars, three university courses will be organised,
a highly visible event, an academic conference.
The Network is led by ENAC Ente Nazionale Canossiano and, in addition to UniTrento, sees Italian and European schools, vocational education and training providers and a non-profit organization (Eurocultura) as partners.

The Erasmus+ Call, is published in November with deadline for applications in February.
