New website of the Measurements instrumentations and RObotics Laboratory

MiRO

Versione stampabile

The Measurements instrumentations and RObotics (MiRO) laboratory is a research lab in Mechanical and Thermal Measurements coordinated by Prof. Mariolino De Cecco. It is part of the Mechatronics division of the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Trento.

The research and teaching offered by the laboratory focuses on the design of new measurement devices, on their application in robotic systems by means of Sensor Fusion algorithms, on the creation and characterisation of human-machine interfaces, on the development of Mixed Reality devices applied both in the industrial and rehabilitation fields.

Since the beginning of this year, we have launched a new website where the main research projects of our PhD students, researchers and students are presented. We have also introduced a reserved section for the Bachelor course in Misure Meccaniche e Termiche and the Master course in Robotic Perception and Action. Here students, once registered, can download the material of their respective courses, interact with the lecturer and stay up-to-date in a historical period where interaction with people is mainly virtual.

The site's graphics were designed by the artist Jacopo Ascari with the aim of paying homage to the surrealist artist Joan Mirò from whom the laboratory takes the name.
As in the case of Surrealism, we do not want the minds in the working environment of our laboratory to be governed only by superficial rules and schemes but to be free to draw on the enormous pool of information contained in our unconscious, grasping the reality hidden behind appearances and then synthesizing new solutions in a “profoundly” creative and innovative way.

Go on the new website!
