Giulia Fredi awarded with the AIMAT 2021 Award

For the best doctoral thesis in the 2018-2021 cycle in the field of Materials Science and Technology

Versione stampabile

Giulia Fredi, young researcher and former PhD student of the MMSE International Doctorate School of the Department of Industrial Engineering, received the AIMAT 2021 Award for the best doctoral thesis, awarded by the Italian Association of Materials Engineering (AIMAT) and reserved for PhD students who obtained their title from 2018 to June 2021, discussing a thesis in the field of Materials Science and Technology. The prize has been awarded during the 16th AIMAT National Congress, held in Cagliari in September 15-18, 2021 (http://aimat2021.it/).

The thesis of dr. Fredi, with the title  Multifunctional polymer composites for thermal energy storage and thermal management, with advisors  prof. Alessandro Pegoretti and prof. Luca Fambri, concerns the development and characterisation of multi-functional polymer composites with high mechanical properties, absorption and heat release capacity at a defined temperature. These composites combine a polymeric matrix, a fibrous reinforcement phase and a phase change material (PCM).
