As appointed member of the local Coordination team

Versione stampabile

The 7 members of the local Coordination team for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games have just been appointed, in order to interface with all the actors of the event and in particular with the Milano Cortina 2026 Foundation.

Among these is Paolo Bouquet, associate professor at the Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science and delegate of the University for Sport, with special with special mandate for the 2026 Winter Olympics

“My role - comments prof. Bouquet - will be to ensure that the University of Trento will actively contribute to the strategic objectives of the Milano Cortina 2026 Games, with particular reference to the promotion of sustainable development and the launch of initiatives that can bring long-term benefits to the Trentino area, and more generally to our country. I believe that training, research and innovation (the three University key skills) are very important elements for developing a vision that is both new and courageous on the future of our territory in the coming decades, with a particular eye on the young people who live there and who must have the real possibility of enhancing their skills and enthusiasm here too.
I am happy to be able to work with a group of competent and highly motivated people such as those who are part of the Coordination team.  I believe that the opportunity given to us by the Olympic Games will bring benefits both to Trentino, to the University of Trento, and to other stakeholders represented in the Committee”.

The Games will take place from 6 to 22 February 2026 in nine Olympic venues between Milan and Cortina.
