Two events proposed by the Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science of the University of Trento during September have been a huge success.
"With these events, the Department wants to open its doors to the schools, towards the students and their teachers", said Professor Alberto Montresor, promoter of the two events at UniTrento.
ICT Days Summer Camp (September 3-8, 2018)
The simulated activity "School-Work Alternation" for the professions of the future was dedicated to high-school students in the Province of Trento.
The training week entitled "So, you wanna be a Data Scientist?", promoted by the Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science of the University of Trento, in collaboration with Hub Innovazione Trentino (HIT), STAARR network (Trentino Schools Alto Adige in the Robotics Network) and the Contamination Lab; represented the opportunity to integrate multidisciplinary elements in software programming, design, humanistic and economic disciplines with transversal skills. Furthermore, the event sought to encourage problem solving, group work, effective communication and public speaking of the participants. The event was attended by about fifty high school students from Trentino.
Speakers coming from companies such as SpazioDati, U-Hopper and OpenDataTrentino have proposed their view on data science.

ICT Days Teacher Dojo (September 10-11, 2018)
A professional training course for primary and secondary teachers on the subject of computational thinking and focused on the Scratch software. Carried out at the Polo Ferrari in Povo (Trento), the event saw the participation of about fifty teachers who (many of them for the first time) learned about coding and IT training.
