Alessandro Maffei, Master student in Information and Communication Engineering, and Lorenzo Bruzzone, professor at the Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science got the 2019 Outstanding Paper Award at "WHISPERS 2019" for a paper developed in collaboration with J.M. Haut, M.E. Paoletti, J. Plaza and A. Plaza. The paper “Efficient Convolutional Neural Network for Spectral-Spatial Hyperspectral Denoising” that received the award, is the result of a joint scientific cooperation between the Remote Sensing Laboratory of the University of Trento and the University of Extremadura in Spain.
The Workshop on Hyperspectral Image and Signal Processing: Evolution in Remote Sensing (WHISPERS 2019) is an internationally recognized event that involves the most prestigious professionals in hyperspectral data processing area, which was held in September 2019 in Amsterdam (The Netherlands).
